Korach....VANITY!

Tammuz 4, 5769 Sixth Day Yom Ha'shee'shee

Dear Ones, Again I am amazed that we are into a new month...the month of Tammuz. This is a summer month and even now, in my little part of the world, the temperatures have risen and we definately know that summer is here. I am going to diligently try to write more on this blog because so many days of God are coming up. Starting this month..on the 17th we start three weeks of soul searching. One is to give up red meat and wine and maybe any other thing that you feel is a stumbling block. It is a time one woman called the "three weeks of the serpent". It is a time of studying the scriptures and seeking God about the things in our lives that He is judging us over. It is a good thing for all of us to do some soul searching. These three weeks lead us to Tish B'Av..which is Av 9...a day when MANY tragic things have happened....mainly the destruction of BOTH Temples. But God in His mercy gave us a wonderful day right after...TuB'Av..a day of love. Get out the cards and flowers and candy. Tell someone you love them. the world and the worldly church has its Valentine's day and we who are Believers in the Way of God have TuB'Av. Hallelu Yah!

I cannot write today without the mention of the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Wow! I believe all of us were expecting Farrah's and we are saddened by it but MIchael's is quite a shock! Both, I'm sure were not ready, in the sense that they both knew Yeshua as their Savior. It was said that Farrah was a devout Catholic but as I wrote yesterday on Facebook...what does that mean? She was a member of a church...a cult, if you will. A belief system that does not put God as the Supreme head but it's Pope and it's church. Of course, anyone who has read anything I have written about the Catholic church knows that I DO NOT LIKE IT. IT IS THE GREAT PRETENDER CHURCH. IT IS VILE AND IS A CHURCH OF IDOL WORSHIPPERS AND PAGAN DOCTRINES AND SACRAMENTS. Michael was raised a Jehovah's Witness, which says quite a bit. His life has never shown us that he was anyone who was following the LORD. And we, at least I, believe him to be a pediaphile.

One thing is for sure, these two lived with vanity in their lives.

I pray their families reach out and receive the comfort from God and families and friends that they need.

I am quite disturbed by something else I read.....the Ethiopian Orthadox church has long said it has the Ark of the Covenant in it's possession. It has maintained that it received the Ark and has kept it hiddden. Now they have had a meeting with the Pope and are going to allow the world to see the Ark. I am apalled! I am apalled that the evil Pope and his church are going to have anything to do with the ark! But these are the times we live in and this church will probably be a big part of the endtimes and what it holds. So as keep I am telling you....BEWARE.....KEEP AWARE...AND BE PREPARED!

The Torah Portion this week is very intriguing....it is Parashah 38: Korach Numbers 16:1-18:32....

Korach incites a mutiny challenging Moses' leadership and the granting of the kehunah ("priesthood") to Aaron, accompanied by Moses' erstwhile foes, Dathan and Aviram. Joining them are 250 distinguished members of the community, who offer the sacrosanct ketoret (incense) to prove their worthiness for the priesthood. The earth opens up and swallows the mutineers, and a fire consumes the ketoret-offerers. (Chabad Torah in a Nutshell)

The Temple Mount has a wonderful teaching and I give it to you here...study to show yourself approved...glean from all that the LORD HAS FOR YOU...HE DISIRES FOR YOU TO WALK IN HIS WAYS AND TO FOLLOW HIS COMMANDS. HIS TORAH IS RIGHTEOUSNESS!

I love you and want only the best for you. May you be blesed!
With love to you in and through Yeshua our Savior and soon coming King...His servant, gloria

Korach: The Man Who Wanted it All

Korach had it all: He was fabulously wealthy, highly intelligent, he had been to the finest schools, he was impressively handsome, charismatic, a mesmerizing speaker and a mover of men. Korach was a scion of the tribe a Levi, counted amongst the distinguished leaders of the fabled Kohati clan, whose Levitical responsibilities included the most prized of tasks: the transport and placement of the Ark of the Covenant, the golden ark which contained the tablets of the law which Moses brought down from Sinai, in the Holy of Holies.

Korach had it all, but he wanted more. The Midrash teaches that it was his Lady Macbeth-like wife, driven by ambition, who egged him on to open rebellion. But he no doubt would have easily rebuffed her provocations had his own passions not already been enflamed. Korach wanted the one thing he didn't have - the priesthood. Not only was it the one thing he didn't have, but it was the one thing that Korach's wealth, intelligence, good looks and charisma could never obtain. For the priesthood was granted not to Korach, but to his cousin Aharon, and his descendants, by no less an authority than G-d Himself.

Therefore, Korach's rebellion wasn't merely against the authority of Moses, or against the privilege of Aharon. Korach's rebellion was against the G-d of Israel. As our sages point out, one cannot rebel against the authority of the G-d of Israel without ultimately denying creation itself. Little wonder, then, that Korach's punishment was nothing less than an aberration from our normal expectations of how the created world works, when the earth opened up and swallowed both Korach and his band of rebels, whole. Again, our sages have noted that the very "mouth of the earth" that swallowed Korach up was created especially for this one task, in the twilight hours of the sixth day of creation. Did Korach really think that he was something new, something special, unanticipated by G-d since the beginning of time?

Korach truly did lack something, but it wasn't the coveted priesthood. Korach lacked all the qualities that Moses and Aharon possessed: humility, deference to others, obedience to G-d . It was these qualities that enabled Moses to quickly counter the growing uprising, divide the rebels, and readily despatch of Korach himself. If Korach felt he could engage Moses in a battle of ego and prestige, enticing Moses into playing according to the rules which he, Korach, could best manipulate, he was dead wrong.

Korach, whose name has become a byword for squandered potential, nevertheless, provides for us an invaluable lesson as to what transpires when one allows for vanity to be his guide. But it is Moses, who once again, steers his people safely clear of the snares of demagoguery, and the base instincts to which silver-tongued divisive speech leads. Humble, soft-spoken, "heavy-tongued" Moses, the ultimate shepherd, sensitive and open to every individual appeal, (see Numbers 9:6, 27:1), knew a beast of prey when he saw one, and acted quickly to diffuse the danger. Many try to take the reins, but it is Moses who leads the children of Israel: "Happy is the people that is in such a case. Yea, happy is the people whose G-d is HaShem." (Psalms 144:15)

Father's Day.......

Sivan 28,5769 Shabbat

Shabbat Shalom!
May this special day be blessed above all the rest. As I always say about Shabbat, I actually read it somewhere...Shabbat is so special that it is as though all the days of the week are lined up and all bow before her. She is the royalty of the week. She is crowned Queen.

I am thinking about what is going on with Korea and Iran. We are in danger of an attack from Korea...possibly Hawaii and maybe even Alaska. Would Korea really be so foolish as to attack America? I just don't know. I want to think NO... BUT WOULD THIS BE THE BEGINNING OF CHINA GETTING INVOLVED AND THEN GOING AGAINST ISRAEL AND RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO IS, FOR ALL IT IS WORTH, A MUSLIM AND HAS PRACTICALLY DENOUNCED ISRAEL.

Be sure of where your heart is. Is it with Israel? Are you praying for the peace of Jerusalem the City of God? I hope so!

And concerning Iran. The people are tired of a dictatorship and a dictator who is making them look foolish but will change bring about a better way of life? We will not know until change actually happens. For right now my prayers are that our Elohim makes a way for Iran and her people and that they come to know our Savior Yeshua. Let them come to know Him and accept His saving grace.

I am also thinking about Father's Day. I really wasn't sure of when it was since I go by our Father's calendar of days and months but my grand daughter Arrin came home from summer school all excited becasue she made her Grandpa something for Father's Day. And so I found out it is indeed tomorrow June 21, 2009. Or in my world....Sivan 29, 5769.

My Dad died several years ago. I can't even give you a date because it is as though it was blanked out of my mind. I know it was around Thanksgiving time and daughter Jessica's birthday. Why did I blank it out? I don't know. It was not a shock when he died because he had been ill for seveal years with Alzheimer's disease but when I found out he was gone I took it very hard. I fell to the floor crying and this was just not crying...it was gut wrenching cries and I laid prostrate on the floor before the LORD and weeped for at least 45 minutes to an hour...it could have been longer. But when it was over, I had seen a glimpse of what was happening to my Dad and I was overjoyed. I knew beyond a doubt that he was with our LORD and that he was happy.

We had had a trying relationship because there was always so much going on between him and my Mom. Neither one was happy but they stayed together. He drank a great deal and she ran around a lot. But I always felt safe with him. In fact I had dreams when I was young and he would always be there to save me. In the dreams which I guess could be called nightmares, my Mom was always the villian and abandoned me or did terrible things to me but he would come and things would be ok. I still have dreams or nightmares about her to this day....not very often but if I have talked about her one will usually show up a few days afterwards.

I don't know if any of his children would say he was a great Dad just like probably none of us could ever say our Mom was a great Mom...but they were our parents. I think he did the best he could. But I have comfort in knowing I do have a Father who loves me.

My Mom had always told me...over and over again...how she never wanted me and when she found out she was pregnant my Dad was happy so she told him..."Well you can have her" And she didn't even want to name me so my Dad named me.....Gloria Lorraine. I couldn't figure out where he got the name but I was always pleased that he named me.

One night, a few months ago, I was praying and thinking about all of this and I began to cry and I told the LORD how much it hurt the way my Mom had treated me but that my Dad had loved me and he had named me. And our Father said..."Yes, Your Father named you Gloria." Now I knew why I was named Gloria...the LORD had placed this name on my Dad's heart and so it became my earthly name.

What's in a name? Names are so important. We just don't realize how important but we should all be very careful when using them. I used to say Jesus now I say Yeshua...but what about our Father? Here is a very wonderful teaching from Emet Ministries......

Who's Your Daddy?

truth about the Father's Name

Mark Twain once wrote that "When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years." The wisdom of a father is an unmatched wealth of experience and advice.

It is interesting that people with devoted dads usually have an easy time relating to God the Father. "Daddy" is a title that lovingly describes relationship. Earthly fathers may be named Jerry or Tom, but does the Heavenly Father have a name? People sing "blessed be the name of the Lord" yet seldom know the identity of this blessed name. The Son's name is clear and many are familiar with the Holy Spirit. What about the Father?

A careful reading of Exodus 3 reveals more than just the story of a burning bush. Here, one can learn the true name of the Father. At the burning bush, Moses learns that the Almighty wants to use him to deliver the Israelites from the bondage of Pharaoh. It's been many years since Moses left Egypt and he's doubtful the people will even accept him as the legitimate deliverer sent from above. For the people to follow him, Moses needs a miracle. He needs a higher authority to vouch for him.

Here on Mt. Horeb the Almighty passes before Moses and "the LORD said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations." Here in Exodus 3:15 the LORD reveals His name as the four Hebrew lettered tetragramatron yod-hey-vav-hey or "YHWH." Some pronounce this name as "Yahweh" or "Yahuah."

Throughout the Bible, YHWH is used over 6,000 times exclusively as the name of the Father. This name is usually explained in the preface or introduction of most Bibles and hidden behind translator's techniques. The King James Version capitalizes the words "LORD" or "GOD" in an effort to alert the reader that "YHWH" is the Hebrew word behind the English. The KJV sometimes uses the poetic form of "Jah" to reference the mighty name of YHWH. This can be seen in Psalm 68:4. YHWH says emphatically in Exodus 3 that "this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations." This name was not intended to be hidden by scribes and translators; rather YHWH Himself gave it to man as a sign of His existence and as a means of personal relationship.

Traditionally, this name is not used by observant Jewish people as many believe the name is too holy to be uttered. Judaism has replaced the sacred name with "Adonai" or "HaShem." Christianity as well has ignored the name of YHWH by substituting generic terms like "God" in English or "Dios" in Spanish. These words are not specific to the deity of the Bible and can easily reference Allah or Buddha. Using such replacement terms is in direct opposition to Isaiah 42:8 which states, ""I am YHWH, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another."

One can say the true name of YHWH in prayer, praise, study, and witnessing. By using the Sacred Name a believer can experience the power of spiritual intimacy. The Father's name is not God or Billy Bob, it is "YHWH."

Impossible

Sivan 24,5769 Third Day Yom Shlee shee

Impossible
By Tzvi Freeman

He could have made a world that would look at itself and explain itself according to its own rules.

But He made a world with such rules, that according to its own rules it cannot exist. He wanted a world with wonder.

I am in wonder everyday at God's creation. I listen to the birds early in the morning and I know they are singing praises to Him. When the trees sway gently in the wind, they are waving outstretched limbs to Him who is worthy.

If no one praises Him..He will be praised......

As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting: “BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Rabbi, rebuke Your disciples.”But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!“ (Luke 19:36-40)

For You will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before You, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

Blessed are You O LORD, Creator and King of the universe.

"You are worthy, Adonai Eloheinu, to have glory, honor and power, because You created all things.....yes, because of Your will they were createdf and came into being!"

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God hovered upon the surface of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh Shabbat,a complete day of of rest, holy and set apart for ADONAI: whoever does work on Shabbat must be put to death. The children of Israel are to keep the Shabbat, to observe Shabbat through all their generations, as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He stopped working and rested. Exodus 31:15-17

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, tell Me if you know so much. Job 38:4

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim the work of His Hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. Psalm 19:1-2

The earth is the ADONAI'S, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. For He founded founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters. Psalm 24:1,2

He has made every thing beautiful in His time: He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, heart, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginnig to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28

For this is what ADONAI says—
He who created the heavens,
He is God;
He who fashioned and made the earth,
He founded it;
He did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited—
He says:
"I am ADONAI,
and there is no other". Isaiah 45:18

He made the earth by his power, He founded the world by His wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by His understanding. Jeremiah 51:15

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were made by Him; and without Him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:1-3

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20

For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Colossian 1:16-17

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through Whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of the Sh'khinah and the very expression of God's essence, upholding all that exists by His powerful word. After He had, through Himself, made purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of HaG'dulah BaM'romim. Hebrews 1:1-3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were created by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made out of what was visable. Hebrews 11:3

But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's Word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same Word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:5-7

"You are worthy, Adonai Eloheinu, to have glory, honor and power, because You created all things.....yes, because of Your will they were createdf and came into being!"
Revelation 4:11

Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with everlasting Good News to proclaim to those living on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. And he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour has come when He will pass judgement! Worship the One Who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water."
Revelation 14:6-7

PSALMS 119:105

Sivan 12, 5769 Yom Khah'mee'shee Fifth Day

Hello my Dear Ones, It is another wonderful day in my little part of the world. Our Adonai Elohim is so good....His love and mercy endures for ever!

We all know what is going on. Obama is making this trip to visit his Arab relatives...shunning Israel and by doing this, is he not setting forth the endtimes even faster? Can a man do this? Yes, we were given a choice as to whom we would elect and unfortunately Obama was voted in. Yes, so many of us had 'eyes to see' and 'ears to hear' but the majority of the people were mesmerized by his smooth talk and cunning ways. And I say this, those who say they are 'Christians' and voted for him were not listeninig to the LORD that day!

Now, we as Believers must remember that we are called by His Name and we must say "I STAND WITH ISRAEL. I WILL LISTEN TO THE LORD MY GOD."

I have several favorite scriptures but I am going to concentrate on one...Psalm 119:105....Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

As I pondered this so many years ago the LORD did surely speak to me with understanding and in such a way that it made it so clear.

"Your word lights my way. Your Word is my flashlight and my street light. When I seek Your Word it becomes life to me--it lights up all things...it illuminates where ever I am going. My course is set straight ...the map is made clear.
Your directions are easy to follow. Your instructions keep me on the right path.
You are my GPS...my SATELITE GUIDENCE SYSTEM.
Your Word plugs me in and You watch over me and when I pray You hear me and deliver me and help me in all my ways.
Your Word is eternal. Your Commands make me wiser. Your Commands are righteous. Your Instruction is established forever. You are my refuge and my shield and I put my hope in Your Word. My flesh trembles in fear of You; I stand in awe of Your Torah."

And You say to me, "I will instruct you and teach you in this way that you are to go: I will give you counsel: My eyes will be watching you."

Let us put our trust in the LORD God Almighty. Let us be aware, beware and be prepared for what is to come but always know that it is He Who keeps us from harm. His hand is upon us and He will protect and deliver us.

Obedience brings favor.
Favor brings blessing.
Fasting and prayer brings deliverance.

As always I only want the best for YOU.
With love to YOU in and through Yeshua our Messiah and soon coming King...His servant, gloria
