SHEMA

The Torah portion for this weekend is from Deuteronomy 3:23 through chapter 7:11.

The suggested reading from this Torah portion is the greatest commandment
found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 that we love the Lord with all our heart, mind
soul and strength. It is known in Judaism as the Shema and begins with
asking Israel to hear and obey the Lord and realize He is the one and only
God. So please join with me that we would be a chorus of voices proclaiming on
earth and to the heavens that the God of Israel is the One and Only God.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is
one! "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all
your soul, and with all your strength. "And these words which I
command you today shall be in your heart. "You shall teach them
diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in
your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and
when you rise up. "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and
they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. "You shall write them
on the doorposts of your house and upon your gates."
